Because He Said So

You have heard it. I have heard it and well, yep, our kids have heard it (MANY TIMES).
The frequent response to a child asking for the reason a parent said no: Because I said so. and many times your answer is BUT WHY.
As a parent, as a Youth Pastor, as an authority, there are times when this simple answer is the best answer.
This is something I need to remember when asking God the questions I ask him. Yes, I can continue my futile attempts at negotiating with the Almighty, but the reality is this, God knows best and he said it best.
God could certainly choose to save someone however and whenever he would like. But as I search the Scriptures, I certainly see that he chooses to use us to reach the lost.
But it makes me uncomfortable
I have never done it before, why should I now?
I will probably mess it up, God. Why would you choose me to talk to her?
Because he said so.
The following are the he said so verses. There are many reasons why he said what he said, but let us just trust him at his word and trust that he knows best. But do not just be a hearer (or reader) of these words. Be a doer (James 1:22).
He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. (Mark 16:15)
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? (Romans 10:14)
Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. (Matthew 9:37-38)
But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15)
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. (Acts 1:8)
But you, keep your head in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, discharge all the duties of your ministry. (2 Timothy 4:5)
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)
