Why Jesus Came into the World
“Pilate therefore said to Him, ‘So you are a king?’ Jesus answered, ‘You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.’ Pilate said to Him, ‘What is truth?’ John 18:37-38
Yes! Jesus came into the world to open the one true way for fallen humanity to be in right and restored relationship with God the Father (See John 3:16, Matthew 1:20-21, Acts 4:12 and I Timothy 1:15). But notice what Jesus said to Pilate in the back room of the Roman headquarters called the Praetorium located in Jerusalem when He was on trial prior to His crucifixion. Jesus told Pilate that He had come into the world “to bear witness to the truth.” That’s staggering!
In a world, and perhaps in your life, there are those who are struggling with what is true—what is real! Perhaps someone you know has been deceived by the enemy and is currently living a life of frustration and confusion. Jesus Christ was not just a good man who did a lot of good things and then, that was it! The Bible says that God has revealed to us His Son, our Redeemer, Savior, and living Lord. In a world of imposters, the historical and raised Son of God is to be the object of your faith and mine! That’s reality! Place Jesus on the throne of your heart today! Listen to Him! He will never mislead or forsake you! His promises are true and never-changing! (Read more about Jesus and Pilate’s conversation in John 18:28-40).
